Maybe the computer science major should stay inside...

So probably everyone who reads this knows that I am a Computer Science major. Now I don't want to stereotype, but I know that many comp. sci. students garner most of their entertainment from video games and movies. Maybe I should join them.

Yesterday I had racquetball class and played doubles, which meant lots of moving around. Yesterday afternoon, I played some volleyball with some friends. Then last night, I went with some friends to the gym to play basketball. I guess I overstepped my bounds because after playing for a little over half an hour, I went up for a rebound and hurt my pinky finger.

I know, you're thinking, "big deal, it's only a pinky finger." That was my initial thought as well. When the ball hit my finger, it felt like I had just jammed it. That was until I looked at it and noticed it was bent sideways. So I calmly walked off the court, terrified to look at my hand again. Thankfully, one of NC State's student trainers, who happens to be a good friend of mine, was there. He walked over, and in a very professional manner, set my dislocated finger. He taped it up and proceeded to instruct me on how to care for the injury. So I guess that's what I get for being active.

Not that it will deter me from continuing to be active, but it should be interesting when I try to program with two of my fingers taped together.

Swinging!

I really can't get over how much fun swing dancing is! I recommend it to anybody who has any amount of fun dancing. I don't know what else to say, but it was a lot of fun going with people who got decked out to go.

My friend Crystal has posted a few pictures on her Shutterfly site. The first few are from when we went a month ago, but they're all fun. Check them out here.

I fell in to a burning ring of fire

Just a postin'

So it's been a bit since my last post. Not a whole lot to say other than I wish I could extend my Spring Break to cover the rest of the semester. Time spent with friends is invaluable.

I'm not looking forward to April, what with projects due in all three of my major courses this semester, and no long weekends to speak of.

However, I am planning on going swing dancing again this Saturday, so if you're interested, just let me know, and I'll get you in on the ordeal.

because I wanna be cool and have tiny words in italics at the bottom of my entry

Mmmm, minor prophets...

I suggest you read the book of Zephaniah, but in summary, shortly afer the prophet Zephaniah speaks of woe for Israel and the nations, God declares through him that He will leave a remnant of Israel among the people who will take refuge in the Lord. This is what follows:

Shout for joy, O daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, O Israel!
Rejoice and exult with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
The LORD has taken away His judgments against you,
He has cleared away your enemies
The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst;
You will fear disaster no more.
In that day it will be said to Jerusalem:
"Do not be afraid, O Zion;
Do not let your hands fall limp.
"The LORD your God is in your midst,
A victorious warrior
He will exult over you with joy,
He will be quiet in His love,
He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
-Zephaniah 3:14-17
