The Adequacy of God

So I've been reading J.I. Packer's Knowing God and one of the last chapters is titled The Adequacy of God. He has spent the majority of this chapter touting Paul's letter to the Romans and how it reveals a lot about the mystery of the Gospel. At any rate, Packer's is writing about the end of Romans 8, "If God is for us, who can be against us..." and pulls out this piece of poetry from Toplady (an 18th century Christian):

A sovereign protector I have,
Unseen, yet for ever at hand;
Unchangeably faithful to save,
Almighty to rule and command.
He smiles, and my comforts abound;
His grace as the dew shall descend,
And walls of salvation surround
The soul He delights to defend.

Something? interesting to say

So I don't have a lot interesting to say. Just thought it'd be appropriate to post something new since I haven't done so for over a month.

Things are looking good for this semester, so I hope that this one will be as good as the last (my first ever 4.0 semester in college).

I'm also excited to say that I have a college degree. I graduated from Computer Science in Decemeber.

And since Christmas, I've been investing like mad in backpacking stuff. I own a pack, a sleeping bag and pad, a cooking set, a tent and all manner of clothing with adjectives like "wicking" and "insert-force-of-nature-here resistant/repellent." I plan on doing some semi-serious backpacking over Spring Break but hope to hit the trail (as they say) before then. Let me know if you're interested in the Break trip or are going backpacking soon!

So I guess I did have semi-interesting things to say. At least I'm not posting my latest song about how whiney I am or talking about how "hard-core" I look in pink and women's jeans.
